Mayor Jun, as he is fondly called, was a student of Ateneo de Zamboanga in his college days and later transferred to the University of Visayas where he was a member of the vaunted UV Basketball Varsity Team.

Remove Mayor Jun from Dapitan and it is like Paris without Eiffel Tower, like Egypt without Pyramids, like China without the great Wall and like Kuala Lumpur without the Petronas Towers.
