Mrs. Binay, through employed as a medical practitioner, ran and won as Mayor of the afore-cited city after her husband vacated the post. Her term, though, was marred by controversy. Mrs. Binay, along with her husband, Jejomar, is facing corruption charges arising from the so-called "Rockwell Bridge scandal".
