Maria Valentina Plaza is the Governor of the Philippine province of Agusan del Sur. She is Agusan del Sur’s second woman governor. She is the daughter of former Governors Democrito O. Plaza. and Valentina G. Plaza. She is also the sister of former governor Adolph Edward G. Plaza and congressman Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza.
Graduate of the University of the Philippines Los Baños with a degree in agricultural business. She has been known to associate with many foreign not-for-profit organizations heavily involved with improving the quality of education in less fortunate areas.
Although a neophyte, she chose to run for governor of Agusan del Sur with the help of his brother Adolph Edward Plaza. She won as the second female governor next to her mother Valentina Plaza.
In the 2010 elections, she was elected as the first representative of the 1st District of the province.
