Loading ...Nelson Dela Cruz, Sr. is the former Mayor (1986-1998) of the municipality of Arayat of the province of Pampanga, Philippines. Nelson came from a poor family. He was the only one of his seven siblings who were able to have an education. This drived him to persevere in life.
He finished his elementary education at Arayat Elementary School and his secondary schoolyears at Pampanga High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Banking and Finance from the Far Eastern University.
Prior to being a Mayor, he was first an Arayat Municipality Police, a Philippine National Railways collector, and a License examiner in Makati City. He was elected Mayor of Arayat in 1986 and served until 1998.
Nelson Dela Cruz, Sr. is married to Julieta Manapat, a business woman and belongs to a family of politicians. They have eight children, namely: Aniela ( an architect); Lito (a Certified Public Accountant); Paloma (deceased, was also a Certified Public Accountant); Monina (Civil Engineer); Julieta (Banking and Finance graduate); Rowena ( a Medical Doctor); Pamela (law graduate of the University of the Philippines; and Nelson dela Cruz, Jr.
