Coming from a political family, he is not the only one of the Dy’s in politics. His father, Faustino Dy, Sr., is also a former Governor (1970-1992) and Mayor (1965-1969) of the province of Isabela. His siblings are all in government service: Faustino Jr., is a former Representative of the 2nd District of Isabela from 1992 to 2001 before becoming a Governor himself in 2001 (he was defeated in the 2004 Elections by Grace Padaca);Faustino Dy III, is the current Representative of the 2nd District of Isabela to the 14th Philippine Congress, served as Mayor of the municipality of Cauayan, Isabela,Cauayan from 1992 to 2001 and as Representative of the same District to the 12th and 13th Philippine Congress (2001-2007); Benjamin G. Dy, is a former three term Governor of the province of Isabela, Philippines (1992-2001); Caesar G. Dy, the current Mayor of the municipality of Cauayan, Isabela (2001-Present); and, Victor G. Dy, a former Barangay captain of San Fermin, Cauayan, Isabela (2001-2004).
He is also the current President of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines, Isabela Chapter.
