Nereus Acosta
Juan Romeo Nereus Olaivar Acosta, popularly known as Neric Acosta, is a politician, academician, and political scientist in the Philippines. He is a former member of the Philippine House of Representatives, representing the first district of the province of Bukidnon from 1998 to 2007.
Acosta was born on May 14, 1966 in Phillips, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Acosta studied at Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School in Phillips, Bukidnon, graduating valedictorian in 1979. He studied in Xavier University during high school, graduating first honors in 1981. Acosta earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines in 1986, and attended the UP College of Law but did not graduate.
Teofisto Guingona III
Teofisto de Lara Guingona III or TG, is a Filipino politician. Beginning in 2004, he has been elected to two terms in the House of Representatives of the Philippines, as the Representative from the Second District of Bukidnon. He is currently a member of the Partido Liberal.
Guingona III maintains an official blog, NAKUPO – Empowering the Filipino Consumer!. It initially focused on the privatization of the National Power Corporation, but has expanded its scope to a general advocacy of Filipino consumer rights. The blog also tackles issues such as food security and bringing down the cost of telecommunications services.
Franklin Drilon

Franklin Magtunao Drilon is a Filipino politician. He is also the Chairman of the Liberal Party. He is currently Senior Counsel of the ACCRA Law Offices.
Drilon was born on November 28, 1945 in Iloilo City, Iloilo and is the eldest son of Cesar Drilon, Sr. and Primitiva Drilon. He took his elementary education at the Baluarte Elementary School in Molo, Iloilo, Iloilo and graduated in 1957. He finished his secondary education at the U.P. – Iloilo College(now University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo) in 1961. In college, he went to the University of the Philippines where he initially took up Bachelor in Arts in 1965. At U.P., he was the associate editor to the Philippine Collegian and served as councilor of the U.P. Student Council. Among his classmates were future politicians Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Ronaldo Zamora.
Alex Lacson
Alexander L. Lacson is a Filipino lawyer, author, philanthropist and politician. He is best known as the author of "12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country." On November 28, 2009, Florencio Abad,the Liberal Party of the Philippines announced that Lacson had been alloted the tenth slot on the party’s slate of candidates for the Philippine Senate.
Currently a lawyer and a partner at the Malcolm Law Office in Makati, Lacson took up law at the University of the Philippines College of Law, where he graduated 1996. He later took post graduate studies at Harvard Law School. He also studied at the Philippine Military Academy for three years. He married fellow lawyer Pia Peña, and the couple now have 4 children.
Ralph Recto
Ralph Gonzalez Recto is a Filipino politician. Recto served as a member of the House of Representatives representing the 4th District of Batangas from 1992 to 2001. He was then elected to the Senate, serving from 2001 to 2007. In July 2008 he was appointed to head the National Economic and Development Authority, but resigned from his position in August 2009 in preparation to run for senator in the 2010 election.
Recto comes from a political family. His grandfather, the late nationalist and statesman Claro M. Recto was a Senator for several terms. His father Atty. Rafael Recto was an Assemblyman during the Regular Batasang Pambansa. His older brother Ricky Recto was the former vice governor of the province of Batangas, while his sister Plinky Recto is an actress and TV host. He is married to Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, father to Ryan Christian and stepfather to Luis Philippe Manzano. He is an active member of Tau Gamma Phi. He currently resides in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City and also in Inosluban, Lipa City.

Sonia Roco
Sonia Cubillo Malasarte-Roco is the widow of the late senator of the Philippines and former Presidential candidate Raul Roco. She ran for the Senate in the 2007 Philippine Midterm Elections under her late husband’s party, Aksyon Demokratiko, which is allied with the broad opposition coalition called Genuine Opposition. She joined the coalition after JV Ejercito, son of deposed President Joseph Estrada, pulled out as an opposition candidate at his father’s behest.
Sonia Roco was born to then Congressman Pablo Malasarte of Bilar and homemaker Petra Cubillo of Calape, Bohol. A consistent honor student from elementary to college, she was awarded the "Most Outstanding Student of the Philippines" in 1964, placing first (future husband Raul placed second) among all college students ranked on the basis of academic excellence, leadership abilitiy, and special achievement. Sonia was also a recipient of the Cardinal Santos Leadership Award, having served as president of the Student Catholic Action (SCA) and the National Union of Students of the Philippines (NUSP), a national student organization founded by future Philippine Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban.
Hercules Umali

Hercules A. Umali is the newly elected Mayor of the municipality of Bongabong in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. Bobot, as he is fondly called by his friends and constituents, is a former vice mayor for two consecutive terms in the same municipality before occupying the mayoralty post. He ran under the Liberal Party.
Abraham Ibba
Abraham Mohammad Ibba is the mayor of the municipality of Bataraza in the province of Palawan, Philippines. He was first elected in 2004 and serving his constituents now for his second term.
Ibba, also known as Abe, ran for the position under the Liberal Party (Philippines).
